The Polar Express
On Saturday, we took a journey to the North Pole via the Polar Bear Express departing out of Fishers, Indiana. It was a cold Indiana day. (If you remember the opening scene of Hoosiers where Gene Hackman is driving to Hickory and the wind is blowing across the Indiana plains and it looks cold, that's how it was in Indiana yesterday. So in essence, that movie truly depicted Indiana winters at the beginning of basketball season. If you don't remember that scene, just come over to our house and we would be happy to watch and recite the movie with you.) We were all bundled up in our Minnesotan warm coats that are normally reserved for the coldest days of January. We all got to listen to the story of the Polar Express before boarding the train
Then we got comfy for the ride north on our unheated train car that was 70 years old!
Santa stopped by to talk to Evie. She reminded him that we moved and he told her to keep the Christmas lights on so he would know where to land.
