Labor Day weekend

The summer dragged on long enough that we had to build a cage for the children so mom and dad can take a break. They look pretty good in there! But wait, don't call Family and Children Services just yet....
...it's really the new compost bin that Dad and Grandpa constructed this weekend.
Evie and dad install the final screw to hold the door open.
Last time playing in here before the old banana peels start piling up.
Annalise pretends to be a goat.
We also celebrated Annalise's birthday with Grandma and Grandpa Taller.
Annalise received a chef's outfit to cook delicious meals for us.
They also brough her a baby bed that was so heavy that Evie needed to help.
Mom and Dad gave her a baby for the bed. I am more excited about the baby than Annalise, but she is warming up to it. Especially since it's eyes open and close.

Annalise also is getting the idea about birthdays. A few days ago, we were looking on the web for cake ideas. She decided that she wanted a kitty cake. Unfortunately, I have very limited cake decorating skills. This is what we came up with

Kitty cake, cupcake size. We figure in the next 3 weeks, there will be 3 more birthday cakes so we are pacing ourselves. The rest of us ate mini cupcakes with sprinkles.

She was pretty excited to eat her kitty cake.
Dad holds his wiggly girls. We had fun with Grandma and Grandpa. They helped out with the girls so we could get some things done. They did leave at just the right time to miss out on the cleaning of the deck that we are doing today.
