Sick
The hustle and the bustle of Thanksgiving weekend caught up with us when we returned home. Annalise had a hard time shaking whatever was ailling her and ended up at the doctor's office. They couldn't do much for her "viral infection" (parents hate those words becasue that means there is no other cure than to wait it out--and that means waiting out all the whining and cranky-ness). Then, on Thursday, I got Annalise's cold. I have some sympathy for her as it felt like my head was going to explode for about 36 hours. I'm feeling better now, thanks. So we haven't had much to post this week.
Annalise skipped school on Wednesday because of her doctor's appointment. While we were waiting for her appointment to start, she showed me a skill that I didn't know she had:
Somewhere along the line, Annalise gained the fine motor skills to string beads onto a pipe cleaner. Thinking back, I think Evie did this around 2 years old also. This kept her busy for a good half hour and also made a nice ornament for the Christmas tree.

She was very deliberate on bead choice.
And shows us the finished product.
To keep our spirits up, we have been listen to the all Christmas music station and I have determined a few things. First, my least favorite Christmas song is "grown up Christmas wish". It doesn't matter if it is sung by Amy Grant or that American Idol girl. I just don't like it. I also don't like Gloria Estfan's redition of Silver Bells. It is probalby the most over produced piece of music this Christmas--that's saying a lot since I also hear my fair share of the Trans Siberian Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller. Ok, now that I have the 'dislikes" out of the way, Man can that Josh Groban sing O Holy Night. Probably the best version of it that I have heard since Julie Andrews and Karen Carpenter. I may even go as far as to say that I would buy his Christmas CD just to have that song! And also, you can't mess with the Classic Andy Williams "most wonderful time of the year"!
And here are some videos of the kids just being kids. These are a few weeks old and I am just getting around to putting them up.
