The full Wisconsin
In honor of the epic battle of Brett Farve v. Green Bay Packers tonight, I decided that a theme meal was in order. I normally reserve theme meals for international holidays like Mardi Gras, St. Patty's day or Cinco De Mayo. Tonight, we declared it Wisconsin Day. What to make that is uniquely Wisconsin? Well, we tossed around ideas of fish boils--no fish, and scotch-er-roos--not excactly Wisconsin orgins, but holds many good Wisconsin memories. The best I could come up with is an ode to beer and meat.Leinie's, of course. And in honor of the great Lambeau field, butter burgers a la Kroll's. I even toasted the buns on the grill. Fancy. I couldn't find cheese curds at my local Kroger--or anywhere in the area for that matter--so we had to improvise with Mozzerella cheese sticks. The tator tots are a nod to Tater Tot Hot dish because I just can't bring myself to make it.
The Wisconsin meal was not well received. Evie decided that the cheese was too stringy.

They both perked up when we had ice cream for dessert.
Good Luck Brett and Packers. We will be watching at least the first quarter. This is the only NFL game I plan to watch this year until the next time they meet at Lambeau. And the Super Bowl when the Bengals meet their opponents.

Mmm...cheese curds. I love Wisconsin. I love the northwoods. I love Leinie's.
