Catch up

A little busy here this week. In a few pictures, you can see what we are up to. But first, we decided it was high time to head to a park after school.
Annalise went down the slide.
As did Evie. We met up with our friends, Mike and Andy at the park that day.
Aren' t these cuties? Can't believe how fast they are growing up.

On Friday, we finally got back to work on the landscaping project. After I rounded up a bunch of plants, I started to get busy planting. The girls were largely ignored so they had to occupy themselves.
They found a bunch of pecans that we got from the goat farm in SC and some walnuts from their Christmas stockings. They decided to crack them with mallets on the garage floor.
This kept them busy for a good 20 minutes. The shelled nuts made a nice addition to our granola this week.
Eventually, I gave in and let them help. After all, children should learn the value of hard work, right?
Evie took all the tags off the plants.
Later in the evening, they just gave up. Evie read to Annalise in the yard. What cuties.
And here are some pictures of the finished project (taken at dusk, so that's why they are dark)
Walking up the sidewalk.
The real labor force behind all the landscaping.
Grandpa Taller, this picture is for you. Jim went out and bought those gutter guards that you have on your house. When the helicopters fell from the maple trees, they landed seed side down in the holes and all lined up. Makes for a pretty picture, but someone still has to get up there and clean those gutters.
Again, Jim busy getting the plants in. We still have some hostas and coral bells to plant, but we need to get hopping because the mulch comes on Wednesday!
