Our weekend
Well, we were supposed to be painting Grandma and Grandpa Seibert's bathroom this weekend, but the weather didn't agree so we stayed home. The girls attended their first swimming lesson at the community center. Annalise impressed her teacher by asking to go under water. Most of the other kids in her class were clinging to their parents so only their toes touched the water. Annalise was swimming with a noodle unassisted by the end of class. I think we may have a water bug on our hands. Evie did really well too. She was hoping to learn some strokes and to swim underwater. Unforunately, the class she is in is also a beginner class and most of the kids are still learning to put their heads under. All in all, a good morning and they can't wait until next week.
Since we had big plans away from home this weekend, we really didn't do too much while we were at home. Went to Menard's to buy some light bulbs and made cinnamon rolls after church were the highlights. The girls played together pretty well most of the day too. By the end of the day it was time to wind down with a book. Jim and Evie have been reading kids science books at bedtime. We have been through 2 or 3 now. They found another on the shelf that they hadn't read in a while. Evie remembered it and was showing it to Annalise. Here they are learning all the different modes of flight from glider to rocket.
And at some point, Evie was explaining combustion engines. All I heard was " this pistol goes up and down..." and I had to laugh.
