Annalise's broken elbow

Call the parenting police. I allowed my kid to jump on a trampoline. That's exactly what all doctors and insurance companies tell you not to do. Well, it looked like fun and safe, but Annalise didn't land right and ended up fracturing her elbow. Jim took her to the ER last night and I had the pleasure of taking her to the pediatric orthopedic doctor this morning. He judged it to be a minor break and casted her up for three weeks. She got to pick what color she wanted her cast.
Fortunately, with all the advances in medical science, they now put a cast on a kid that allows you to get it wet. This means she still will take regular baths and still gets to participate in swimming lessons. We may need to inflate a water wing around that arm so she doesn't sink.
We even got to bring home her X-ray. Cousin Henry, this is what the inside of Annalise's arm looks like. If you zoom in you can see the arrows where the break is. I can't make it out, but I never attended medical school.

Annalise, Heidi totally sympathies with you. She never got a pretty pink cast though. Lucky Girl!
