Mother's Day
After a delightful morning of sleeping in, scones, a non-offensive homily at church, and bidding the Seibert family farewell, we headed off to Connor Prairie with a couple of things in mind.
First in our mind was to visit Marin who is an official volunteer. We have missed her on our previous visits so we were so excited that she was there today and working in our favorite place, the barn! Here she is holding a sweet baby goat.
Our other mission was to ride the balloon. Well, just me and Evie as Annalise refuses to go anywhere near it. We got our tickets and then headed back to the barn to wait until our boarding time.
Back at the barn, the baby goats were nibbling Jim's shoes. they ate all of our shoes and tried to eat Evie's hair. Goat spit. Gross.
Our second most favorite place is the candle dipping station.
We spent lots of time adding beeswax to the candles. Next time we go to Connor Prairie, we are going to the barn on the way out instead of the way in. We have to see something different one of these times.
Mom and Evie waiting on our flight.
As the balloon descends, the anticipation grows.
Evie can barely contain her excitement.
We boarded and then bid farewell to Aunt Kathy, Uncle Jay, Dad and Annalise hiding under the walkway
and we were off. it was a bumpy take off, but a smooth flight. It was very windy at the top.
We were lucky to have such a clear day. If you look closely at the horizon, you can see bumps that make up downtown Indy.
After our trip to the sky, we went out for dinner (and a giant margarita!) Evie took this picture. she is getting pretty good at taking pictures. And showing teeth doesn't mean you are smiling, Jim.
Now those are some cute smiles.
When we came home, I got to open my Mother's Day gift. A food dehydrator! The gift that keeps on giving. Dried cherries for everyone.
