Team Taller Racing

In May, we here in Indiana are consumed with all things Indy 500. There is a month long festival, the newspaper features speeds at the track, and the local kindergartens hold their annual "KIndy 500"
For a Kindy 500, you have to construct a "car" out of a box that will be carried around a race track. We here in the Taller house take these challenges very seriously and our team of engineers went to work constructing the body of the car. The engine is a rare 2004 edition. Our driver is not above helping on gasoline alley and works on prepping the finish of the car (she and Jim also constructed the car together out of 2 boxes and about 25 sticks of hot glue).
Other members of the pit crew (who are caped to protect their cast) stepped up to paint. The color is unique and can also be found on our bathroom walls. I guess that leftover paint can be good for something. This red was a much better color for a race car than "Summer Suede" beige.
After the thrill of working with paint wore off, a senior member of the crew had to step in and do some detail work.
When the red dried, Evie customized her ride with some fast looking stripes.
She chose number 77 for reasons unknown. I think that she said that 7 was a lucky number so two 7's would be doubly lucky.
I'm sure this is how Danica Patrick started. Already celebrating with a gallon of milk.
The team goofs around.
And this is the rear view complete with fire coming out of the tail pipe. Awesome.
