Playdate

We had the smallest visitor ever to our house today. 23 day old Parker came with her mom for her first playdate. She received a lot of attention from all the Taller girls. Evie was excited that Parker held her finger.
Annalise was excited to see someone smaller than her for a change. She made the same excited noises that she usually reserves for dogs and kitties.

Pumpkin Carving

On Sunday, we carved our pumpkins in anticpation of Halloween Annalise was in charge of pulling out the guts, then we realized that she was eating the guts! Spooky enough to scare a baby.
Evie's job was to draw on the scary faces
Mom and Evie pose with the finished products.

Saturday

Big day today. It was the day of the neighborhood Halloween parade. The kids lined up behind the firetruck from Carmel Station 46 and marched through the neighborhood. We were told by the neighbors that the parade would come right past our house. Here's Jim and Annalise waiting for the parade. Here's the bummer, the route DID NOT go past our house so we don't have any pictures of the kids marching. The fire engine sounded it's siren. When Jim heard the siren getting quieter, he decided that he missed out on the fun and just hit the neighbor's garage for the afterparty.
Jen and her son Adli came into town from St. Louis. They marched in the parade with us, headed to the afterparty with us, but we didn't take any pictures of them...until we hit the museum. Jen took pictures, so check out Adli's blog for the pics. Hopefully she updates.
We took Jen and Adli to our Children's museum today after the party.

This time, we visited the Dino Dome. Annalise and Adli really like the Dino toys to play with.

Then we decided to dig for bones in the sand. For safety's sake, the kiddos had to don safety glasses. This is Adli looking for a good spot to dig.

Evie in her stylish pink googles.

Dinner was Taco night and cake for dessert. Annalise licked the bowl clean.
Super delicious
Looks great as a hat
How dirty is Stinks? So Stinkin dirty.
Who gave the baby cake and frosting at bedtime??? We decided that she is dirtier today than she was on her birthday.

Dental hygine and other stuff

Evie went to the dentist yesterday. She was sent home with a new toothbrush, kid's toothpaste and her very own floss. This kid could fit nickels between her teeth, but she found it necessary to try out the floss.Flossing takes lots of concentration.
She flossed the same gap for about 5 minutes. It's a wonder her gums weren't bleeding.
Our little pumpkins. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Taller for the shirts! At preschool today, it was pumpkin day so Evie was perfectly dressed.

Seibert Christmas

We traveled back to Ney this weekend for the Annual Seibert Christmas in October. Nothing says Christmas more than a 70 degree day and the sound of corn being harvested. Most of the Great Grandchildren line up for pictures. Some, like Henry, needed extra persuasion.
Evie and Natalie played pretty well all weekend. There wasn't that much crying or fighting. I guess they are growing up.
Gift Exchange for the Men. Who picked Oliver?
Annalise decided to put some miles on Grandma and Grandpa's trike. Where's your helmet?

Look a like

We were watching TV last night and we decided that Annalise had a celebrity hair cut.

Clean out the toybox day

It was a rainy day on Thursday so we decided to do a toy rotation and clean out the toybox. Yes, 2 kids can fit inside
Annalise taste tests everything to suck every last germ off before we put a toy back in the box.
Evie plays with the "doghouse" again. This may be the first time that she touched it since we moved here. OF course, her intrest in it is only due to the fact that Annalise wanted to play with it.
Annalise finds other things to play with and wear as hats.
Evie is practing writing. We wrote all the cousins names before quizing her on state capitols.

Pretty Girl

Annalise discovered the stash of beads. She seems pretty interested in them She mananged to get them over her neck.
All dressed up. You can see that her eyes are still sick. Today was better, but she is still recovering.

Sunday

Another night of half sleeping for the Stinker. She has that horrible, hacking cough. I"m not a medical professional, but I think she has croup. I wish we were back in MN and our great Doctor there would have fixed her up quickly and we would all be sleeping.... We took her outside to get some fresh air and play around.
Danger girl hasn't tipped over the jeep yet.
Evie tags-a-long. We got this on Craigslist recently and were able to take it out for a spin this weekend. She just a little small for it, but she did great on the 3 mile ride and didn't tip mom over the whole time. Next summer will be lots of fun and Annalise is breathing a sigh of relief that she doesn't have to be jammed into the trailer with evie anymore.

Taco Night

All those marketing people at Kraft finally cracked Jim and he was asking for Old El Paso taco night. Since some people in the family (evie) think that anything with salt or pepper is too spicy, I was reluctant to have Taco night. As you can see, I caved because it started sounding good to me too. After attempting a traditional hard shell taco (on the green plate), Evie bites into a soft taco. She liked to put the cheese and lettuce on. Jim convinced her that sour cream will remove the spicyness of the meat.
Evie now has the hang of Taco night.
If you haven't heard, the black plague descended over our house about 2 weeks ago and it doesn't look like it is going away any time soon. First Evie got it, then Jim and I got it. I recovered and Jim got worse. Once Jim started to feel better, Evie started to feel worse. One trip to the ER and we were diagonsed with a nasty virus and told to take Ibuprofen (that's modern medicine). Evie finally got better on Thursday and went to school on Friday when her voice returned. Unfortunately, Annalise started the downward spiral on Friday afternoon. She was up just about every hour on the hour last night and was only happy when properly medicated and held. (Jen, it's a good thing you and Adli didn't make the trip!) Here she is putting her best smile forward.
In the midst of all of this, she has sprouted 3 more teeth! That brings the running total to 7.

Annalise is 13 months old

To commerate her 13 month birthday, Annalise decided it was high time to walk. No stumbling or just a few steps here. The first walk was 8 steps, the second was 15 and I think this one on the movie is about 10. Needless to say, she is exhausted from not being carried and is taking a nap.

You may be wondering why it is so quiet in the background. Evie has been very sick this week and lost her voice. I'm happy to say that she has turned the corner and is perking up today, but all she can do is whisper. It's the quietiest that this house has ever been!

Annalise feeds herself

Apparently mom is a little slow on the draw with yogart, so Annalise took matters into her own hands at lunchtime.Things started out pretty well.
And progressed nicely.
As you can see, she missed her mouth a few times.
Eventually she says the heck with the spoon and tries to lick out the bowl.

Halloween is coming!

Despite the 90 degree temperatures outside today, our thoughts have turned to the fall season. We got out the box of Halloween stuff. Playing with the pumpkin light was fun, but then mom got out the costumes.....I guess Annalise doesn't want to be a lion this year.

A new baby

Welcome to the world, Parker Addison Littig. Born yesterday to Katie and Tim. I got to hold her this evening at the hospital. She is beautiful.

The coast is clear

This weekend was the weekend that the deck was painted. Grandpa and Grandma Seibert came down. Grandma watched the girls while Grandpa, Jim and I all were out sweating over the super huge red deck. You don't appreciate the hugeness (or the redness) of it until you have the opportunity to paint it. We all learned a little something. The most important thing we learned is that you just have to get it done. So now it is safe to visit us, just stay off the deck for a few days.We didn't make Grandpa work all weekend. He made sure that he got to play with the girls.
Grandma takes a break from cooking and feeding the girls to read a story to Evie today.
Annalise.....well, we are considering sending her to the zoo with the other monkeys. First she decided to crawl up on the coffee table (we can't have anything nice).
Then she climbed up into the kitchen chair to take a swig of milk.
She tried to get into Evie's chair, but in the interest of world peace, Grandma stopped her.

The Trainwreck

Right about 5:23 pm every evening, Annalise starts to melt. Then it's the countdown to bathtime and bed. Tonight, after dinner, she decided to eat the rest of the banana sitting on mom's lap. Check out the hairdo. She had lots of food in her hair tonight. Bananas are her absolute favorite despite what it does to her guts.
had to get it in all in one bite.
Crazy hair.
